Protein-Packed Perfection: Photographing Kodiak Protein Waffles
Lighting is Key
When photographing food, lighting is essential. For this photo, I used a strobe with a strip soft box. The strip soft box helps me control where the light lands in the scene. I also use a gobo (go between black card to block light) to reduce highlights on the copper vase in the back so that it wouldn’t distract from the subject. I also used a reflector to bounce light back into the shadows and brighten up the waffles.
Capturing the Details
Once I had the lighting set up, I focused on capturing the details of the waffles. I used a macro lens to get close-up shots of the fluffy texture and the crispy edges. I also paid attention to the way the syrup dripped down the sides of the waffles and glistened in the light.
The Perfect Bite
In addition to the close-up shots, I also took a few wider shots of the waffles. In these shots, I wanted to show the waffles in their natural setting, perhaps on a breakfast table. I also wanted to capture the feeling of anticipation of taking that first delicious bite!
The End Result
I'm really happy with the way my photos of the Kodiak Protein Waffles turned out. I think they capture the deliciousness and the nutritional value of these waffles. I hope they inspire you to give them a try!
